Seventh Anniversary

In the evening we went out for a meal and to spend some time together.

Wedding Flowers

The flowers - they are purple even though they look blue in this photo

I offered to arrange table decorations for some friends of Charlotte and Ian. Ian is best man at this wedding!
They already had the bird cages so I did some mock up designs and they chose a traditional style of arrangement in cream and cadbury purple.

I put netting in the bottom of the cages and then did the foliage, storing the cages overnight in the cool of the garage.

 The day before the wedding I added the flowers - starting with the roses.

 I then added delphiniums and lisianthus to bring in the purple colour.
The bride is having roses and lisianthus in her bouquet too.

 

A little bow and some flower beads on the open door completed the arrangements. I gave them a good watering and popped them back in the garage ready to take to the venue tomorrow. The arrangements costed out at £5.00 each, not including the cage.

Bank Holiday Weekend

Saturday was a nice lazy day - watched some TV, chatted to Vickie and Jerry on Skype and took the dogs for a walk - once the Bank Holiday rain had stopped.

On Sunday we went to see Pip and Liam in their new flat. We had lunch with them at The Alexandra Palace and then took them to Ikea for some bits and pieces. Sam mended the dishwasher - the water had been turned off because of a leak. She also put them up a light and put on a new toilet seat. We bought home the boxes they had unpacked as it is difficult for them to store things.

The Ally Pally

On Monday we went to visit Charlotte and Ian and then did some gardening as the weather was better. We trimmed the conifers and gave the bamboo a hair cut - so the garden looks nice and tidy now.

Moving Day - again!

Pip and Liam moved home again today - it only feels a few weeks since we moved them before! They moved into a two bed flat this time - and they have access to a garden.
Shaun hired a van and came to out house to collect some bits we had stored for the young ones - plus our old sofa which they need too. He helped them with the move as Sam can't lift at the moment and I was working this morning.
We spoke to Pip later in the day and the move had gone well.

Lunch With Sam

Sam and I had a lovely lunch today at The Harvester in Hockliffe. Sam had an exam this morning - which she passed and was free for the rest of the day, so we made the most of it
After lunch we had a quick trip to Ikea to look for bathroom storage. They had nothing we liked but we got a great little shelf unit in B and M - it fits the space beautifully.

Beautiful Rainbow

There was a beautiful rainbow over Blows Downs this evening - it was actually a double one which you can just see. A shower came out of nowhere and this lovely rainbow appeared!
