Australian Visitors - Week One

Sunday 23rd September
Vickie and Jerry arrived today The weather was appalling - so wet the spray on the motorway reduced visibility. They had lunch with Pip and Liam before we collected them and brought them home. They had a tour of the house and, after a cuppa, they (and Sam) had a nap before dinner. We had pasta at home and a nice catch up before bed.

Monday 24th September
I was at work this morning but Sam, Vickie and Jerry went into Luton to sort some bits and pieces out. I came home at lunch time and after a toasted sandwich we took a walk down to Marsh Road. This evening we went to collect some Giffgaff sims that I had been given on Freecycle and then I took Pixel dog training - he passed his bronze award this evening! This evening Charlotte popped round to say hello and then we went out to have dinner at the Wigmore Fish bar.

Tuesday 25th September
Vickie and Jerry dropped Sam at the station then dropped me at work as they needed the car today. They were meeting Pip in Luton to spend the day with her. After a stressful drive into town they had a nice day together. Liam was having an interview in St Albans and joined them just before they collected me from work. Vickie and Pip had a play on Mario Cart and then we went to have dinner at Balti Nights - Vickie and Jerry have missed having a nice Indian meal!

 

Wednesday 26th September
I was home today so while I went to get my hair cut Vickie and Jerry went to visit Vickie's sister Denise. They were home earlier than expected as Vickie has developed a streaming cold. We all had dinner at home together then watched a bit of TV before bed.

Thursday 27th September
Vickie and Jerry dropped me at work then took Kiwi to visit Paddy and Angela. They stayed overnight - I planned to get the bus home from work but ended up walking as the bus was delayed and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. It took me just over half an hour!

Friday 28th September
Vickie collected me from work at 1.00 - she was driving Kiwi expertly! She had dropped Jerry and Paddy at the airport for their trip to Ireland. They are going to Tralee to visit their Aunty Mary. Vickie and I had lunch together then left around 3.30 to catch the train to London.

We successfully found where Sam works in Old Street then waited for her till she had finished work in the local pub. Pip joined us then we walked up to Sam's office. It was nice to be able to place her in her work setting.

We caught the tube to North Greenwich then walked a short distance to the O2 where we had tickets to see Michael McIntyre. Finding somewhere to eat was a nightmare - so many queues! We ended up with a delicious Subway!
The show was great - we had good seats and Michael made us laugh till we cried - they were filming the show for the DVD - or so he said! ( Maybe he says that every night so people buy the DVD.)
In the crowds heading back to the station, Sam and I lost Pip and Vickie. We carried on home as Vickie was going to stay with Pip and Liam for a couple of nights. Pip had dropped her oyster card so they had gone back to the O2  which is how we lost them - but the security guy found it for them, how lucky was that?

Saturday 29th October
Sam and I joined Vickie, Pip and Liam in The Enigma pub in Bletchley for lunch. Sam, Vickie and Liam then went to Bletchley Leisure Centre to watch Pip in a London Roller Girls bout -- Pip's team won! I went to visit Claire and Stu, then drove Sam home. Vickie went home with Pip and Liam on the train. They are going for a Pop Up Vegan Pizza, then Vickie is spending a second night at Pip and Liam's home. Vickie and Jerry's first week here has been busy!
