Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching - and I'm quite concerned as my pile of pressies looks very small. I know quantity is not everything - but I do like to have something to open on the big day!!

Snow for Christmas?

It has been snowing on and of since Friday - so will it be a white Christmas I wonder. The whole country seems to grind to a halt when we get snow but I have to say I'm not looking forward to driving in to work tomorrow. However it does look very pretty (when you don't have to go out in it).

Swine flu jab

I had a swine flu vaccination at work on Wednesday - seemed like a good idea. WRONG!! It felt fine at first - but by the evening my whole arm was on fire and I felt sick and dizzy. The next morning I didn't feel any better - breathless with a racing pulse and palpitations. I had to take to my bed.
Feeling much better now though. Note to self - do not have another flu jab!!

Off to Oz

Vickie & Jerry have been staying with us for the last six weeks. Yesterday they left us to stay with Pip & Liam ready for the off. They have now left on their flight to Australia via Singapore. Although their emigration has been long discussed it is strange now the time has finally come and they have gone to start their new lives. We will miss them both very much.

First week at work

Sam has completed her first week at work - which included a ride in the company car - an Aston Martin DB9.
She was very tired at the end of the week - and can't believe how quickly the weekend has gone!

Greenwich

A family trip to Greenwich to remember Nan, ten years after her death, was much enjoyed by three generations. Rounders was the game of the day and our team were the winners! It was also an opportunity to remember Nan with love and affection.

Finished at last

Sam and I both finished our dissertations last week and handed them in. It is all in the hands of the marker now. It has been a big relief to finish and have some time to do nice things together!

Engagement

Pip and Liam announced their engagement last Sunday - 12 April 2009. We are very pleased and happy for them both xx

Dissertation Time

Sam and I are both working, hard to tight deadlines, to finish our dissertations. One day we will look back and see how much we enjoyed it (well maybe) but at the moment it feels like a hard slog. However I'm sure it will be worth it!!

Paint Stripper

Poor Charlotte found her car covered in paint stripper last week.
It seems to be a random attack with no motive.
She is very upset - quite rightly, especially as its her first car.
Lets hope the b*****ds get caught!!

???

I'm confused about some people's motivation. What goes on in their heads? Why can't they just come and talk things through before they end up being horrible?
Perhaps its time to move on and see what else life has to offer.
Or perhaps other people should!!

Pulse Award

Claire and I went to London yesterday to receive a Divisional Pulse Award on behalf of the Nursery Team. We were proud and surprised to discover that we has been awarded a Global Pulse Award too, which will be presented in May.

The end is in sight!!

My life at the moment seems to be research and writing assignments! However the end is in sight - soon life will return to normal - time for family, socialising and the dreaded housework!
This will be a reminder of how hard I have worked to get a degree!!

Text Message Scam

I have received an unsolicited text message which stole £1.50 of my credit! It then wants to take another £1.50 to unsubscribe to something I never signed up to in the first place!!! I am so cross - O2 don't want to help in any way and say they cannot block the messages.
If you have a mobile phone - beware!!
