Boodle had a visitor - but I am not sure she was terribly pleased to see him!

Picnic in the Park 2011

Today was the Luton 'Picnic in the Park' held at Wardown. This event has been held for many years and is well attended. This event also celebrated the 50th birthday of the Pre-School Learning Alliance (PSLA), which started as the Pre‑school Playgroups Association. Sadly the sun did not shine on the event and all the participants - including me, ended up wet  and cold. However it gave us a chance to promote the Children's Centre and for me to network.

Holiday Time

Sam and I are off on holiday on Sunday to Sicily. Really looking forward to the break and hopefully some sunshine. Forecast looks good when I checked a few days ago. We are going all inclusive - so time to relax, read and recharge our batteries!

The Big 'C'

One of my dearest friends has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She will be having a mastectomy on the 4th July, but is facing this with braveness and a positive attitude. Life seems so unfair at times!

New Job

Well I started my new job as a Children's Centre Support Worker on Monday - and on Tuesday I was offered a promotion and a payrise! I am now a Family Worker - still part time, but with more responsibilities. I am enjoying the job so far - it is varied and interesting. There will be a new full time Family Worker as the existing one is leaving on Friday next week. That means the two of us will start on an even footing and learn the job together!

Gift

My lovely wife bought me a great surprise gift - a shiny new laptop. My old one has been sounding like it is going to take off for a while now but the new one is silent and speedy too - after an initial hiccup.
She also transferred all my stuff over so it is ready to go. It has a built in card reader which makes it easy for blogger pics too.
Thank you wifely!!

Walk With Snoop

Charlotte and I took Snoop for a walk along the canal and reservoir at Marsworth. He is allowed out now as he has had all his vaccinations. It was a beautiful evening and we had a lovely walk but sadly the dog friendly pub where we planned to have dinner was closed until further notice. Fish and chips were secured to finish off a lovely evening.
