And we thought Pixel was small!

A tiny pup who fitted into a tablespoon when she was born could be the smallest dog ever. At the age of three weeks, female Dachshund cross Beyonce is so minute she’s still no bigger than a credit card or an Apple iPhone.

This seems wrong!

Walk on Blows Downs

We took pixel shopping at pets At Home as he needed a new harness - his original one has stretched so is no good with a lead any more - we shall use it in the car with his seat belt as it is nice and soft. We also bought him a coat as the weather has turned nippy again, proper March temperatures! The coat was a bargain as it had been discontinued and reduced to £2.00!
As we were in Dunstable we decided to take Pixel for a lovely walk on Blows Downs today - this dog owning lark is good for our exercise levels! We had a great time - and Pixel had a chance to socialise off lead with a bigger dog - which went ok although he got very excited.
Finished off the afternoon with fish and chips - lovely!
Exploring - everything is so exciting!

Worn out!

New Beginnings

From Monday I will be the Lead Family Worker, with a payrise and slightly reduced hours. Bonus - more money for less time in work. I will have new responsibilities including managing a full time family Worker and a part time Support Worker - both of whom will be new in post as the existing family worker is moving to a new job. This is all as a result of the changes to Children's Centres within Luton. Exciting times!

Fence Staining

I managed to get the three new panels stained today - and the two pieces of trellis we bought to go on the top. However when I had finished the existing panels looked shabby - so i gave them a quick coat too. it took me most of the day - but the fence all looks good now. The weather is great at the moment - I can't remember another year where I would have been able to paint in March!

First BBQ of the year

We had our first BBQ of the year this weekend (and our second!). One on Saturday and another on Sunday. The weather has been beautiful and very warm - and it's only March! Clocks went forward last night too, so this evening was very light. We noticed the difference as we took Pixel for a walk both evenings of the weekend and it was much lighter tonight. He loved walking up on Warden Hills - and it is good exercise for Sam and I too.

Theatre Trip

Had a lovely evening out at the  Phoenix Theatre for Gill's leaving do. We travelled to London on a chartered coach and had a hot buffet supper in the Slug & Lettuce then walked along to the theatre. The show was Blood Brothers, which was both extremely funny and very sad. Marti Pellow was powerful as the narrator and Vivienne Carlyle played Mrs Johnston - she has a great voice. A lovely evening was had by all!

Vaccination Time

Little Pixel had his first vaccination today - and some flea and worm treatment. He was very good and charmed everyone. Second one in a couple of weeks then we can do some puppy training with him. The vet felt he was around 4/6 months so that its with the story we were given. His health is good but we just need to keep an eye on his front legs to make sure he doesn't get a deformity as he gets older.

Pixel

This is Pixel - he needs re-homing so we are giving him a one week trial to see if he can live with us. He is about six months old and has had a bit of a rough start in life. He is a dachshund / jack russell cross and seems to be very quiet natured but time will tell. We named him Pixel as he is so small - and because of the computer connection. I wanted to name him something Irish as it is St Patrick's Day, but we couldn't find anything we both like - so Pixel it is!

Day Off

I had a lovely day off - the weather was beautiful so I did lots of gardening and cut the lawns. The garden is so pretty at the moment with the daffodils, bergenia, hyacinths and pansies flowering. I gave away the old rat cage and run on freecycle - the lady sent a lovely email saying her boys were delighted with it. I also cleaned the windows and had a good sort out. Spent some time this afternoon sitting in the sun reading my book.

Shopping

We had a lovely day shopping in MK today. We chose some new pans as a Christmas pressie from Vickie and Jerry, as well as some new crockery in cassis to replace the somewhat depleted set that we have had for years (Sam chose it - so colour not really a surprise! I also persuaded Sam to buy herself a 3dDS as she has been wanting one for months and months - she has enjoyed playing it this evening. The pans were 25% off today so were a great deal and should last a good long time - they have a lifetime guarantee.    Here is Sam using one of the pans for the first time - you can see some of the others on the shelf behind Sam's head.

Knitted Make

As I have been home not feeling well, I decided to do some knitting. I had bought some lovely chunky wool from a charity shop for £1.50 for three balls. This was a bargain because online the wool is £7.65 a ball! I decided to make a cushion cover and found a pattern on line to use and started knitting. Because the wool is lovely and chunky and I am using big wooden needles, it is knitting up fast. I will post some pictures when I have finished it.

BathTime

Sam and I decided it was time to give Boodle a bath. She has a very smelly mouth and where she washes herself, the rest of her was very stinky too. Sam started by combing her and giving her teeth a brush. Then it took the two of us to keep her in the water while we washed her down. We finished off by rinsing her with the hand spray, then Sam dried her off. To say that Boodle didn't enjoy the experience would be understating it a tad!  However she soon fluffed up again - and certainly smells better. We are going to give her teeth a regular clean to see if this helps!

Goodbye Peggley

Peggley sold yesterday on ebay and was collected by a nice little family - the guy is going to use it to get to work on. We thought it would go to a 17 year old who wanted to thrash it about but not so! He paid us £625.00 which we are very pleased about - he seemed pleased too!

Update - Sam also sold the Turcano Urbano scooter cover on Ebay - for more than she paid for it. The guy is very pleased as it is keeping him warm already!

Good News

Vickie has responded well to new medication and will be going home bright and early tomorrow morning - I bet she will be glad to be home!
