Beautiful Weekend!

It has been a lovely sunny weekend - signs of Spring in the air! The first of my crocus are flowering and the miniature daffs have buds on.
Sam and I spent Saturday at the little house. We put up rails and shelves in the kitchen to give more storage and free up worktop space. Sam and Ian - with a little help from Ian's friend Rick, modified the cupboard under the sink so that we could fit in the washing machine and slimline dishwasher.
Then Sam put up some wall lights in the master bedroom - they finish the room off nicely.

Sunday was spent having a potter about in Dunstable for the morning and dog walking in the afternoon.Sam, Pixel, Kate and Harry went for a walk on Warden Hills  and I took Casey to a park near home where I can let her off the lead. We had the park to ourselves for the best part of an hour. She had a lovely time and we all enjoyed the sunshine.

 

Sadly on the way home Casey had a fit - her second in ten days. She was on a grass verge so I was able to stop her hurting herself. She was able to walk home after about five minutes and seemed less disorientated than last time. I think we need to have a blood test done to check her medication levels are correct still. 

UPDATE - we had a blood test done and Casey's medication levels are fine - the vet said even well controlled epileptic dogs will have the occasional fit - so we just have to monitor the length and frequency of any further fits. 

Train Trouble

Problems on the trains tonight - no trains running between London and the North. Sam had to get a train to Hitchin and I drove there to collect her. Buses had been organised between Hitchin and Luton - Sam saw one bus for around 1500 people.
The problem could continue tomorrow so Sam may be working from home!

Moving Day

Yet another moving day - this time Charlotte and Ian moving into the little house. I had done some painting in the front bedroom prior to moving day and Dad came this morning to wallpaper a feature wall in some nice turquoise paper. The room looks fresh and modern now - a big improvement on the dingy brown and cream it was before.
Ian had borrowed a van and some friends to help lift stuff - sadly the weather was wet, later turning to sleet but most things got moved in. I helped with hanging curtains and making up the bed and Sam and I unpacked the kitchen.
We ordered pizza for tea - which went to number 5 instead of 13 - Sam muddled our address with Charlotte's, but strangely number 5 is Sally's house, so she nearly got our pizza!
It has been a long, tiring day!

Poor Casey

Casey had a massive fit this afternoon just after I got in from work. It lasted about a minute - but felt much longer. She was disorientated and very wobbly when she came out of it and took a long time to settle down. Pixel was very concerned about her. This is the first fit we have seen her have - although we have suspected she has had a couple of small ones.

Claire Comes For Tea

Claire came for dinner this evening - she drove over when she had finished work. It was lovely to see her and catch up on all her news. She looks really well. We had turkey with bacon and cheese for dinner along with roasted veg and mash - quick and easy to do. Sam prepared the turkey in advance. We followed it up with cheesecake - lemon for me and chocolate for Claire and Sam. Claire ws excited to meet Casey and see Pixel again.
We have made a decision not to leave it so long to catch up in future!

Knitted Corsage

Sam bought me a knitting magazine and this flower corsage was the kit with it. It took just a few hours to knit it -  a bit fiddly but not complicated. There is enough wool to make a second one in a different colour order.
I shall stitch a safety pin to the back and wear it on my brown jacket.

Sam has had great news on the salary front today - well done to her!
